The History of SBFP
Vol. II
Or, A brief account of the
origination of the NTO

The original National Time Organization was created 1964, and was
located in a small apartment in Philadelphia. It's only known member was
Frank Schwartzberg, a noted eccentric. In fact, he was so eccentric that
he had no other friends, or anyone who would listen to him, for that
matter. He died alone.
In fact, it's merely coincidence that the
official and more internationally acknowledged organization goes by the
same name. The official NTO (the subject of this article) was started in
2015 by Roger Kennedy, a time traveling pioneer. His gifts and insights
into the world of time distortions inspired him to create the original
NTO. After registering the organization in 2015, he hired a few more
employees. At this point the name was more in farce than anything, as
excluding a few successful time distortion attempts, the organization
was nothing more than a hobby for a half dozen middle aged men.
It was during this time that the first
edition of "Time Travel: An Instructional Guide" were first written, at
first just a collection of theoretical articles based on their
successful tests, later evolving to include the rules and regulations
regarding distortions of time. It's interesting to note that the word
"Time" appears no less than 4,312 times in the latest edition of the
guide. But not that interesting.
In 2016 the group achieved their first
successful time dilation. 5kg of aluminum were sent 59.87 seconds into
the future.
One of the minor problems faced by the
group was convincing people that they were indeed sending the aluminum
forward, instead of merely rendering it invisible for the amount of time
instead.
In 2020 KYRA (a major aeronautics company
started in 2010) bought the technology, intent on creating a time
traveling vehicle. (note: their original campaign slogan was ridiculous.
So ridiculous that I'm not even going to say it here). Before the
vehicles could be released, however, the national government got
involved. They declared that the vehicle could not be released until
more tests had been done into the nature of time travel. During their
research their major source was the now slightly famed NTO. After their
brief interaction, the NTO earned government funding for continued
research into the extended plausibility and theoretical profitability of
time travel.
The NTO decided that unregulated time travel would indeed be world
threatening, but if regulated and contained time travel could be a
valuable tool. Due to their knowledge on the subject, the NTO itself was
absorbed into the government to become a special government agency. Now,
acting as more of a flight control center than anything, the NTO boasts
of a force of 1,000, with a fleet of 32 time ships in operation at all
times. Most of their objectives now revolve around the correction of
minor continuity offenses before the next time cycle.
